Mission or Purpose
The Berks Conservancy was established as a non-profit membership organization in 1974, with a mission to preserve Berks County's unique cultural and environmental heritage for the benefit of future generations. To fulfill that mission, we have focused our efforts on preserving agricultural land and open space; protecting the quality of our streams and ground water; preserving historic landmarks and scenic landscapes; and by promoting those values which contribute to a sustainable future for our community. In 2015, Berks Conservancy became Berks Nature, encompassing Berks Nature Conservancy, Berks Nature Trails, Berks Nature Eco-camp and Berks Nature Education.
