Daniel Patrick (“Pat”) O’Connell is founder and president of Evergreen Capital Advisors, Inc. and its subsidiary, Evergreen Conservation Finance. Evergreen is a Washington, D.C.-based financial advisory firm that specializes in assisting government agencies and non-profit corporations in raising capital, with a particular area of expertise in financing for farmland and open space preservation. During his 30-year investment banking career, Mr. O’Connell has been responsible for over $10 billion of financing for public projects. His firm serves as financial advisor to the Garden State Preservation Trust, the state agency in New Jersey that has dedicated over $2 billion since 1998 for farmland and open space preservation, and to the Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Foundation, the agency within the Maryland Department of Agriculture that funds statewide farmland preservation. Mr. O'Connell is a co-manager of New Jersey Agricultural Land Trust, which was formed by the New Jersey Farm Bureau in 2007.
