Background

Services Provided

Brandywine Conservancy’s GIS office offers a wide range of mapping solutions to municipalities, land trusts and other clients. We specialize in open space and natural resource prioritization, GPS mapping services, viewshed analysis, 3 dimensional site planning and review, zoning and official map updates, baseline mapping for conservation easements and general infrastructure mapping. Brandywine Conservancy’s service area has traditionally been focused on southeastern Pennsylvania, but if the appropriate GIS data exists for your area of interest we surely accommodate your mapping needs.

Bio

The Brandywine Conservancy was founded in 1967 by local residents concerned about the possible massive industrial development of their largely rural area of Chadds Ford and the impacts of that development to the water supply for communities in southeastern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware. The first conservation easements, protecting more than five and one-half miles along the Brandywine, were granted in 1969. Today, the Conservancy holds more than 430 conservation easements on more than 34,000 acres in Chester and Delaware counties, Pennsylvania and in New Castle County, Delaware. The Conservancy’s Environmental Management Center is a leading local and national advocate for responsible land use, open space preservation and water protection.
